Ep. 09

OUT-OF-BODY EXPERIENCES

Contributors:

In this episode
There are countless accounts of out-of-body experiences, where individuals describe leaving their physical bodies and observing themselves and their surroundings from an external perspective.

These experiences have intrigued scientists for years. Psychologists and neuroscientists have attempted to induce out-of-body experiences by stimulating specific brain regions or using virtual reality.

However, these studies only partially explain the phenomenon, leaving the nature of consciousness - something that we have not yet been able to quantify or measure with conventional methods - an open question.

IN-DEPTH INTERVIEWS

52 Scientists from Around the World

Compelling insights from doctors, neuroscientists, physicists, psychologists, parapsychologists, and other world-renowned scientists, combined with testimonies from individuals with exceptional experiences and/or abilities, explore the enigma of the mind and its ventures beyond the conventional.
On average, each scientist has 163 Scopus-indexed publications, with their work cited approximately 7,000 times by other researchers. They published in some of the world’s top scientific journals, like The Lancet, NEJM, Nature, Science, and The BMJ.

A reference in supporting scientific research.

Over the years, the BIAL Foundation has developed a close relationship with the scientific community, first in Portugal and then worldwide. Today, it is a renowned institution, particularly in Neuroscience and Parapsychology research, aiming to stimulate new research that benefits people by enhancing health and reaching new levels of knowledge.
