Leanna Standish PhD
She is a Senior Research Scientist at Bastyr University’s School of Naturopathic Medicine in Kenmore, Washington. She previously held the position of Medical Director at the Bastyr Integrative Oncology Research Center (BIORC). She is also the Co-Founder and Co-Director of the Advanced Integrative Medical Science (AIMS) Institute and a Founding Board Member of the Oncology Association of Naturopathic Physicians, commonly known as OncANP. Her research interests include naturopathic oncology and neurology. She has also focused on using brain imaging techniques to explore energy healing modalities and brain-to-brain communication.

She earned a PhD in Neuroscience/Biopsychology from the University of Massachusetts in 1978, followed by a doctorate in Naturopathic Medicine (ND) from Bastyr University in 1991, and a master’s in Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine from Bastyr University in 1994. In 2006, she achieved board certification in Naturopathic Oncology.

She has held the position of Affiliate Research Professor at the University of Washington’s Integrated Brain Imaging Center and has served as the Principal Investigator on several National Institutes of Health (NIH) research grants. Furthermore, she has been a member of the scientific review study sections for the NIH and the Department of Defense, focusing on research related to Complementary and Alternative Medicine (CAM) within the cancer field.
